Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 Film Review
The Harry Potter franchise is one that took over the world in the 2000's with all of the films being films that people to this very day do still watch. Well everything does eventually have to come and end and that's exactly what happened in 2011 when the eighth and final film in the Harry Potter story came out and while the franchise has continued onward with three prequel films , an upcoming TV show adaptation , a game show , a cooking show and a stage production nothing will ever be be able to top how people watching the film that i'm going to be talking you all about today and so then join as I review the film that will make any Harry Potter Potter cry just by say8ing the world always with the film in question being called simply just "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2" enjoy.
The plot of this film is Harry , Ron and Hermione have to try and find and destroy the last of Lord Voldemorts Horcrux's before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot thats actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films plot being the perfect plot to round of this truly iconic franchise as it does a good job of rounding of all of the characters story arcs and the main plot of the film in away that does feel satisfactory with this being the kind of plot that whilst it does of course work in book form also works really well in film plot as it is a truly cinematic plot with it being helped by the fact the plot of the book was split up into two halves which did allows the plots of both films to breath more and be as a good as they could have been and while yes there are some faults to be found with the plot of this film like the fact that the main plot of this film doesn't get alot of focus with it basically being an extended all fight scene Power Rangers episode this is something that does kind of work as it is quite literally just the pay off film to everything that was set up not only in the previous film but in all of the films as well and therefor it does make sense that this film would be alot less plot focused when compared to the other films as there really isn't that much of a plot left to cover with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter , Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. Also starring in this film is Alan Rickman as Severus Snape , Suzanne Toase as Alecto Carrow , Ralph Ineson as Amycus Carrow , Dame Maggie Smith as Minerva McGonagall , Jim Broadbent as Horace Slughorn , Warwick Davis as Filius Flitwick and Griphook , Miriam Margolyes as Pomona Sprout , Robbie Coltrane as Rubeus Hagrid , Dame Emma Thompson as Sybill Trelawney , Gemma Jones as Poppy Pomfrey , David Bradley as Argus Filch , David Thewlis as Remus Lupin , Natalia Tena as Nymphadora Tonks , Domhnall Gleeson as Bill Weasley , Clémence Poésy as Fleur Delacour , Dame Julie Walters as Molly Weasley , Mark Williams as Arthur Weasley , James Phelps as Fred Weasley , Oliver Phelps as George Weasley , George Harris as Kingsley Shacklebolt , Ciarán Hinds as Aberforth Dumbledore , Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange , Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy , Helen McCrory as Narcissa Malfoy , Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy , Bonnie Wright as Ginny Weasley , Matthew Lewis as Neville Longbottom , Jessie Cave as Lavender Brown , Devon Murray as Seamus Finnigan , Alfie Enoch as Dean Thomas , Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood , Katie Leung as Cho Chang , Afshan Azad as Padma Patil , Josh Herdman as Gregory Goyle , Scarlett Byrne as Pansy Parkinson , Louis Cordice as Blaise Zabini , Sir John Hurt as Garrick Ollivander , Adrian Rawlins as James Potter , Geraldine Somerville as Lily Potter , Gary Oldman as Sirius Black , Sir Michael Gambon as Albus Dumbledore , Kelly Macdonald as The Grey Lady and Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting thats actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With the fact that this films acting being so good is not really something that's all that surprising as all of the films in this franchise even the Fantastic Beasts films have always had some really good acting in them as the films have always cast some really good actors to play alot of the characters in these films and then surrounded them with a bunch of a really talented kid actors with this being something that has helped the films out as we got to see all of the kid actors grow into some really good actors with this being something that does come to a head in this film as we get to see the kid actors deliver performances that are more then good enough even when compared to the films more established actors and while yes there will of course be some bad performances in this film as there are in any film here it felt like that there was more good performances then bad ones as everyone had this last chance to get there characters right and my god did they do exactly that. While it would be easy to say that some one like Daniel Radcliffe is the films best actor the fact is the best actor in this film has to be Alan Rickman which yes is a predictable guess but it's also one that's true as he makes you upset after just hearing one word with him having the ability of making you hang onto every word that he says as well which is something that really does make his performance in this film really stand out with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that the script for this film is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.
Doing the CGI in this film is Cinesite , Double Negative , Moving Picture Company , Framestore , Baseblack , Rising Sun Pictures , Tippett Studio , Lola Visual Effects , Gradient Effects and Union Visual Effects. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI thats actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Much like the films acting it's not really all that surprising that this films has some really good looking CGI in it as the effects in all of these films have always been really good with this film mixing practical effects like explosions for example really well with the film CGI effects and while it will always be obvious what was done inside of a computer compared to what was done for real the fact that the makers of this film did film practical effects is something that helps the CGI effects blend in all the more better as ow the effects teams have references as to where lighting was coming from on certain sets and can therefor for light the effects to better blend in with the live action footage and heck in what was a nice little detail during the escape from the room of requirement scene they actually show the fires reflection on the floor which was something that they didn't have to do as nobody would have been staring at the floor during that scene but it's the fact that they did in the first place that makes the effects in that scene and indeed the rest of the film on the whole feel more real as they added in all of these small little details that realistically would be there if this was being done for real with that being something that does make the effects in this film stand out all the more.
As was to be expected in this film alot of characters both good guys and bad guys do start dropping like their flies. With alot of the deaths in the film like those of Severus Snape and indeed Lord Voldemort himself being handled very well due to the fact that we actually get to see them die and yet for alot of The Battle Of Hogwarts we don't get to see key characters die which granted isn't really needed alot of the time as the mere sight of seeing them laying dead in the break from all of the fighting is more then enough to get people misty eyed but when you take into account that the book took the time to give some of those key characters death scenes that indeed hit harder then what they do in the film it is something that makes you wonder why the makers of this film didn't bother to film those death scenes as due to the fact that this is a two part film and the fact that they were sticking fairly true to the books barring one or two exceptions it is odd that we don't get to see how alot of these beloved characters do die as that is something that would have made the battle just as traumatic to watch as it would be to be in. With the only real hero death that we get in this scene belonging to someone who is at best at nothing character that being Lavender Brown as as we see a death eating her alive during The Battle Of Hogwarts and while that does still set home the message that any of the characters can now die it makes no sense for them to show her death and not show Fred's death for example as he is a more beloved character and is more of a key side character then what Lavender is as she really only became a side character in Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince were even then she didn't do all that much to really warrant her death being shown to us in this film.
Earlier on I said that this film was basically like an all fighting episode of Power Ranger and just to go further into that. What I mean is there are some episodes of Power Rangers where it's just one giant fight scene with a little bit of set up at the start of the episode and pay off at the end of the episode and it comes across as being the same way here as we get the set up of why Harry , Ron and Hermione need to go to Hogwarts near the start of the film and it could be argued that the fantastically done 19 Years Later epilogue is the pay off with the entire film from the second that Voldemort tells the kids that they have one hour to hand Harry over being this one big action scene with there being no breaks inbetween for more little bits of plot and while that might be seen as being a bad thing in some newer films given that this film was the final film in an eight film saga it is something that does make sense as the people who would becoming to watch this film are the same people that have been showing up to all of the new films for years as pretty much by Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince the films stopped trying to cater for any new fans and just started focusing more on the fans who had been there from the very beginning. With the fact that this film is the second part of a two part film this does mean that the film didn't have to focus that much on plot and character as all of the leg work for both was done in the previous films with the only thing that this film had to do was just pay things off and while things like having Ron and Hermione end up together doesn't make sense as they spend most of the franchise arguing with each other things like showing Molly for example stand up to Bellatrix and Nevil essentially become the hero of the third act are things that do make sense as it was not only who they are as character also who there character had become naturally.
Let's take a second to speak about Lord Boldimort as how he was done in this film was something that did make alot of sense both from a story point of view and a character point of view. As all throughout the films he was always presented as someone who despite being this very deadly person he was also calmest and at times the smartest person in the room with him coming up with these quite frankly complicated plans to try and kill Harry and yet here in this film due to the fact that Harry is making him mortal again we get to Lord Voldemort go more and more insane and start to show bouts of rage and anger with him even killing one of his own followers who did nothing other then say his name. With this being something that was perfectly in line with his character as it made him be all the more threatening as a villain as while we have always been told just how much of a threat he is and how powerful he is we've never really seen it and while that is something that works for those films as the other films had no reason to show it here in this film tho they do take the time to show us how powerful he is with him taking on the barrier that was being used to protect Hogwarts with the character still retaining his smarts by sending in the most disposable group first in this case The Snatchers which is something that does show us that even tho he is going more and more fueled with anger by the moment he is still the smartest person with im even knowing that before the night is done that Harry will come to him yet it's his smarts that undo him in the end as there was one thing that he didn't take into account that being the fact that Harry himself finds out that Harry is himself a horcrux something which Voldemort didn't think was the case.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and ten minuets and twenty six seconds. With this being a really solid amount of running time for this film as while the film didn't have that much plot in the first place it is a film that needed to be that long in order to do it's plot as given the fact that this film is the final film in the Harry Potter storyline it did have to wrap up everything that it set up and it wouldn't be able to do that and still a good story in a shorter amount of running time with the film having more then enough there interms of plot to cover that amount of running time in the first place. As while the film didn't use its running time all that wisely due to the fact that it doesn't take the time to fully develop it's plot it could be argued that due to the film being the finale film it really didn't need to as alot of the development that the plot would have gotten would have been in all of the previous films and therefor isn't really needed in this film with the same thing also being true for the film lack off character development as all of the films characters would have gotten there development over the course of the previous films and isn't something that's needed in this film and yet at the same time it would have been nice if both the plot and the characters did get some sort of development if it was something small as then it could show us the audience just how far that the films characters have come since we first met them all the way back in The Philosopher's Stone but neither are needed to make this film work tho but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.
So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With the thing that makes this films action so good being the fact that it does have stakes to it with this being where having the characters get killed off being something that does help to raise the tension in those scenes as thanks to other characters being killed it now means that any character can now die with this being something that does help to make the action eb all the more better as now we the audience could see our favorite character killed from a stray blast or by someone killing them. With the best action scene in the whole entire film being the entire second and third act of the film as both of those two acts as one big action scene and to be frank it's awsome in every aspect of the word and even when we don't get to see alot of the main battle like when Harry goes into the Forbidden Forest to confront Lord Voldemort himself there brief fight in that scene really works due to the intimate nature of the scene something which is also true for when the fight does resume and Harry and Voldemort really basically fight all other the castle as while the book version of their fight is great for the book in the film it needed to be something more cinematic and that's what there fight to death was in this film with the entire battle of Hogwarts making for one great looking action scene with the same thing also being true for the rest of the films action as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall whilst the Harry Potter franchise did continue with the mediocre Fantastic Beasts this is the final film in the Harry Potter franchise that was actually good as it got so much right whilst also giving us a perfectly satisfactory ending and while there are some faults with the film of course there is but there it smore things right with the film then there is wrong with the film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review as such that means that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where In personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Blogger . Com , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from this very film that I used in this very review being the really great Google Images really simply just due to the fact that really alot of if not really all of the images that are all really from this very film with alot of them being better quality then what you'd really think of and all of the images are really of course up and really on Google Images are also really all fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.
